HOW TO
PREPARE YOUR
TAROT DECK
This mindful practice can prepare your deck and cleanse the energy of the cards, amplify your connection and create a clearer channel for your readings but also support you to tune out of any distractions and get in the zone.
I recommend doing this with your deck before participating in one of my tarot classes or circles; but feel into what's most appropriate for you when it comes to frequency and whether you do these practices before or after doing readings for yourself (or others).
Organise the cards in your deck so that they are in order; divided into the Major Arcana, Minor Arcana - Swords, Cups, Wands, and Pentacles* and in sequence; you could think of this as pressing ctrl-alt-delete with the deck.

HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR DECK
Choose your preferred method or a combination:
Sacred smoke
Suggestions: Sustainably sourced Palo Santo or White Sage, Frankincense resin, or an incense blend - check out Mama Moon's The Body Guard.
Once your tarot deck has been reset and organized, ignite a piece of Palo Santo, a White Sage bundle, or a charcoal disk on a heat-proof dish for Frankincense resin or an incense blend. When the smoke appears you can either fan your deck out and hold the cards over the smoke and allow it to wash over them or place the cards on a surface and move the smoke over the cards.
Clear Quartz, Selenite, or Amethyst
After you've reset your tarot deck, stack the cards into a pile and place a crystal on top.
Sun or moonlight
Choose somewhere that the cards won't be disturbed and lay them out to absorb the energy of the Sun or Moon; this can either be outside (weather permitting) or by a window.
**Solstices, equinoxes, and full moons can be a powerful time to give your deck an extra boost.**
